Collection and Use of Personal Information
We may request personally identifiable information from you. This information may be used in order to set up an account, create or edit your profile, subscribe to a service, make a placement, participate in a contest, participate in interactive features of the Service, communicate with other users through the Service, authenticate your identity and pre-populate forms, and other related functions.
Basic contact information, such as name, email address, home and billing addresses, and phone number will be requested. Demographic information, photographs, and credit card information may also be requested. If you use your Facebook account to set up a cNanny account, we will request your permission to access your basic information on Facebook, such as your name and profile photo. This information will be used to make the Service account set up process easier.
If you sign up and/or log into your account through sign-in services, like Facebook Connect, you provide cNanny with permission to access certain information about you from Facebook or such other sign-in service, such as your Facebook User ID, user profile, and profile photograph.
E-Mails and Text Messages. We require an e-mail address and phone number from you when you register for our services. We may use your e-mail and phone number for sign-up, placement and interview confirmations and notifications, payment and refund processing. We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to cNanny services, such as service announcements and administrative messages. We may also occasionally send you promotional messages (e.g., new product offerings, newsletters, special third-party partner offers. E-mail messages we send may contain code that enables our database to track whether the e-mail was opened and what links (if any) were clicked. If would like to discontinue receiving promotional e-mails and text messages from us, you may opt out by using the ‘unsubscribe’ link contained within them.
Payment Information. To process payments for subscriptions, placement, and other services we will require your credit card information and billing details. cNanny members may have the option of storing this information as part of their account information. Credit card transactions are processed through industry standard Secure Socket Layer by a third party which only uses your information for that purpose.
Referrals. We encourage you to refer a friend to join our platform and community of nannies and parents by sending us a friend’s name and email address. cNannies may also participate in our referral competition for an annual cash award by referring friends to become cNannies and obtain employment via the platform if they have passed through all stages of the cNanny vetting process. We will keep referral contact information in our database, and send that person a one-time e-mail inviting them to visit the site. cNanny stores this information for tracking the success of our referral awards program. Your friend may contact us at info@cNanny.com to request that we remove this information from our database.
Survey Data. We may periodically conduct voluntary member surveys via text messaging and/or e-mail. These surveys provide us with useful and important information for us to develop improvements in or services and measure the ongoing quality of service of an individual cNanny, such as in the case of a performance review, and/or or the overall quality of our cNannies. Your participation in all surveys are deemed voluntary.
Demographic and User Preference Data. Demographic and preference data are collected on our platform in the profile registration. This data is used to tailor our community members’ experience with our platform, showing them content, including cNanny profiles, according to their preferences. Some of this aggregated information may be shared with third-party partners through non-personally identifiable means.
Documentation of References and Certificates. cNanny candidates have the option to upload refernce letters from previous employers and copies of childcare related certificates and degrees earned. These
Use for Research. Data collected in assessments administered on either the platform or through surveys delivered through email and/or text messages may be used on an anonymous basis to continue our research into successful relationships between nannies and parents and facilitating successful caregiving relationships and partnerships among cNanny community members.
Mobile Device. If you use a mobile device to access our platform or download any of our applications we automatically collect the IP address and will collect the geolocational information upon your consent.
Push Notifications. We send you push notifications if you choose to receive them to notify you of activity on your dashboard, such as interview requests and messages received. If you wish to opt-out from receiving these types of messages, you may turn them off on your device.
Non Personally Identifiable Information
Activity and Log Data Our servers automatically gather and store information related to your use of the platform in our log files, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring/exit pages, the pages you view on the platform, and date/time stamp. We use this information to analyze trends, administer and improve the platform, gather broad demographic data, prevent fraud, and aggregately track user movement. These logs are not shared externally.
Cookies. Cookies are used to collect information about how you use the platform. Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive or in device memory which allow us to determine the number visitors to our platform, distinguish returning users from new users, track user trends, and save member preferences. They are not connected to any personally identifiable information about you. If you choose to disable cookies you may lose functionality of the platform.
Web Beacons. We may use tracking pixels to count the number of users that visit specific pages on the platform. Web beacons are used to report on site traffic and analyze the effectiveness of ads and how users interact with the platform. We may also use web beacons in our email communications to better understand the behavior of our community members. Web beacons are not linked to any personally identifiable information.
Sharing of Information
Sharing to your cNanny Interview Candidates We may share information from your profile to the cNanny candidates with whom you have initiated contact with either through an interview request or through the messaging system. We never share your contact information with your cNanny candidates.
Sharing by Law; Protection of Us and Others. You recognize and consent to the disclosure of information you provide in accordance with any applicable law at the behest of a third party, such as to comply with a subpoena or any legal process; protect and defend cNanny’s or any of our third-party partners’ rights, safety, or property; or protect someone’s health or safety, such as when harm or violence against an person (including you) is threatened.
Sharing with Third Parties. We may share information about you with vendors, consultants and other service providers, such as payment processors, who need access to such information to conduct work on our behalf. This work may include, but is not limited to, analyzing member data, processing credit card payments, and providing marketing assistance. Your information will be treated as private and confidential by such service providers and not used for any other purpose than we authorize. Occasionally, we may share email and mailing address information about our members with carefully selected third party partners so they can offer goods and services that we believe may be of interest to our community members. If you do not wish to receive such offers from our trusted partners, you can follow the steps below to opt out of receiving such promotional offers.
We take the security and protection of your information seriously by implementing measures to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information stored in our database. These measures include encryption technology during credit card transaction and administrative access to platform data and the use of Secure Socket Layer. However, no information transmitted over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Therefore, cNanny does not represent or warrant that your information will be completely secure and hence accept no liability for any unintentional disclosure.
You may contact cNanny at support@cNanny.com to request the removal of any unauthorized profile, the deletion and deactivation of your account, and the removal of your contact information in our promotional emails and newsletters database. Please note, we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes. If you would like to terminate our access to your Facebook information, then login to Facebook and remove the application and website from your list of applications.
